Sample handling in obtaining blood serum during clinical chemistry examinations often differs between established procedures and reality. In reality, during examinations, samples that have been delayed for some time are still being examined. This incident actually does not comply with existing procedures. Delaying samples can affect serum quality. Incorrect blood sample handling will affect the results of the examination, which is related to the laboratory's internal quality, namely the pre-analytical stage. At this stage, errors can occur ranging from 46 to 68%. This study aims to determine the differences in urea and creatinine levels in specimens that are immediately examined and those that are delayed for 2 hours before being examined. The method used in this study was experimental, with a random sampling technique. The sample size was 30 Emergency Department patients. The examination method used the Jaffe method for creatinine and the urease-UV method for urea. After the study, the average urea and creatinine levels in the immediately examined specimens were 28.5 mg/dL and 1.1 mg/dL, respectively. Meanwhile, the urea and creatinine levels in the specimens delayed 2 hours before testing were 26.9 mg/dL and 0.9 mg/dL, respectively. There was a difference in urea and creatinine levels, with the specimens delayed 2 hours before testing having lower levels.
