Kombinasi Aromaterapi Sereh (Lemongrass) Dan Yoga Pranayama Terhadap Penurunan Nyeri Dismenorea

Latar Belakang: Saat dismenorea wanita sering sekali mengalami rasa nyeri pada perut bagian bawah saat menstruasi sehingga mengganggu aktivitas. Penanganan dismenore dapat juga dilakukan dengan non farmakologi yaitu dengan menerapkan aromaterapi lemongrass dan yoga pranayama.
Metode: Jenis penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan Quasi-Experiment dengan desain one group pretest and post test. Teknik sampling penelitian Probability Sampling melibatkan 21 sampel mahasiswi. Skala nyeri diukur dengan Numeric Rating Scale (NRS)
Hasil: Uji statistic menunjukkan terdapat penurunan rata-rata intensitas nyeri pretest dan posttest sebesar 3.24 uji Wilcoxon menunjukan nilai signifikansi 0.001 (p value < 0.05).
Kesimpulan: kombinasi aromaterapi sereh (lemongrass) dan yoga pranayama memiliki dampak penurunan nyeri dismenorea mahasiswi. Meskipun demikian dibutuhkan penelitian lebih lanjut guna melihat dampak aromaterapi lemongrass dan yoga pranayama terhadap fungsi biokimia tubuh sebagai efek penurunan nyeri, contohnya kadar kortisol, prostaglandin, endorphin dan lain sebagainya.
